Connecting Guests to Crestron Projectors in Katahdin or MLK A/B Conference Rooms

This is a guide explaining the process for non-staff to connect to projectors in the Katahdin or MLK A/B conference rooms from non-CEI devices. Guests can share both screen content and audio wirelessly. To connect, they will need a Windows PC or Mac that can connect to wi-fi and a special piece of software.

Guest Wireless Network Setup

Guests must be on the MLK-Crestron or Katahdin-Crestron wireless network in order to connect to the projectors successfully. After connecting to the wireless network, they will need to view and acknowledge the terms and conditions via a webpage before being able to access the internet.

Wireless SSID: MLK-Crestron / Katahdin-Crestron
Password: CEI_Guest

Room Setup

  1. Make sure the projector is powered on
  2. Drag the "Wireless Presentation" icon to the corresponding projector ("left" refers to MLK B, "right" refers to MLK A)
  3. Drag the "Wireless Presentation" icon to the "Audio" section for the corresponding projector

Guest PC Setup

Connecting to the projectors will require special Crestron software. For best results, make sure guests are aware ahead of time in the event that they require IT approval or assistance to install additional software on their computer.
  1. Enter the IP address from the top left of the projector screen in the address bar of a web browser
  2. Select "Download" next to "Client for Windows" or "Client for Mac" depending on platform
  3. Install and run the downloaded software
  4. Enter the randomized 4-digit code from the top-right corner of the projector screen when prompted
  5. Press "OK" to connect and begin screen sharing

Info
When downloading and running for the first time, the AirMedia program should prompt for the relevant code automatically. The program will remain installed and can be used again in the future by inputting the IP address from the top left corner of the projector screen when the program prompts for hostname or address after opening.
