Change a Default Application for Opening Files

This can be used for just about any application, but this article uses the image file format .png for the following screenshots.

Click the Windows icon, then start typing "default" and you will see the Default apps option appear. Click that.



In the new pop-up, type in the file extension of the type of file you're trying to change, then click Choose a default. From there, you can pick from programs installed on your pc. If you don't see the program listed, scroll down till you get the option to Choose an app on your pc.

Make sure to click Set default after you have picked your program.
